William Generett Jr. – Lessons from Shimabara
Bill Generett has a lot of faith in the power of collaboration. This faith serves him well in his post as the inaugural president and CEO of Urban Innovation21, an umbrella organization of public-private partners that is working to connect all communities to our region’s economic prosperity. William is responsible for the overall management of the organization’s public private partnership. Under Bill’s leadership Urban Innovation21 has been recognized locally and nationally for its groundbreaking work. Bill is a very active member in the Pittsburgh community where he serves on several boards and advisory committees. In 2014, he was appointed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Pritzker to serve on the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Bill is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College.
