Planning

Once the Feasibility study is completed, and the community decides they wish to create a center for arts and technology in their city, the Planning Phase is initiated. In this 12 to 18 month period, the NCAT team works closely with the region’s designated advisory committee to:

  • Develop a seed fund for the capital campaign
  • Secure incorporation and 501(c)(3) status;
  • Collapse the advisory committee into a board of directors;
  • Hire and train an Executive Director
  • Choose a location and space;
  • Design and complete build out of space;
  • Develop and train a basic staff;
  • Instill the MBC educational model core values and operating culture
  • Build curriculum;
  • Recruit and enroll students
  • Create a growth and sustainability plan;
  • Secure funding commitments for three years;
  • Kick-off grand opening and program launch.

After the grand opening, the newly-formed center for arts and technology moves into the Early Implementation stage.
